Fishing fun at the lake

Saturday was a bit of a slow day, so I (Steven) decided to take the boys "fishing" at Lake Springdale. William and Andrew have some netting (Amanda says it is "tulle" - whatever that is) that they play with, so I tied it to some sticks to make fishing nets for them.



Here is Andrew trying to dip his net in the water. He eventually laid on his belly at the very edge of the bridge. *sigh*



William spotted some tiny fish and is trying to catch them.



Andrew, of course, has the "me, too!" little brother thing going on, so he ran down to join William.



The lake was rather scummy, so it was a bit difficult to find clear spots where they could try to catch fish. This seemed like a pretty good one, but the fish weren't biting...



Fortunately, the other wildlife was out in force. The first picture is a bit hard to make out, but it's a snapping turtle doing some fishing of its own. The second picture is a baby turtle enjoying some sun. And the last picture is a baby frog that William spotted and I managed to catch - this was definitely their favorite!
